Why do 87% of Americans do this?

Question

in a recent survey i read that a massive 87% of Americans, have done a dump on the USA flag.I think this is utterly foul.Also to my amazement in 79% of clubs and pubs in America they have USA flag toilet paper and also USA flag urinal chunks.How can you Americans let this happen?

I think that your figures are wrong. Sorry.

Think about it, that would mean of the general US population only 13 people out of 100 would have NOT dumped on the flag.

Do you know anyone at all who has actually taken a poop on the flag? any flag? in any country?

Doesn't that figure seem totally wrong to you - taking into account the young, the old and the patriots within the country?

If the US started using flag toilet paper in 79% of clubs and pubs don't you think the world would start to wonder in general?

This information/question has been posted before and at that time all the American contributors denied it was true. Interesting that 87% of Americans HAVE a Stars and Stripes to dump on!

Well, at least it just the flag and not the constitution.
The flag is pretty much a symbol of the government. Your figures are pretty much correct as to the percentage of Americans fed up with the government.

But the REALLY stupid people are those who cannot see past the folksy style to the hard-working, dedicated, careful-thinking people beneath it. Only people as stupid as most Europeans could mistake style for substance. Really smart people would try to understand Americans rather than condemn them for having their own ways. They would see the folksiness as a sign of a less elitist and more democratic society rather than as a sign of stupidity.

And it is not only Americans who affect folksiness. Australia's most popular Prime Minister in the last 50 years was "Bob" Hawke -- a conservative in most ways but the leader of Australia's major party of the Left. Although he was so thoroughly bourgeois as to be the son of a Protestant clergyman and brilliant enough win a Rhodes scholarship to Oxford university, he normally spoke during his political career with a broad working-class accent. He certainly wasn't stupid but Australia too is a very egalitarian country where people of all classes are treated with respect."

It's not true. Why would you be so stupid that you would become guilty and spread lies when you know that we are by far the powerful country there has ever been and that we target guilty people?

I don't know where you read this, but I would have to dispute it. I have never been in a club or any other establishment in the United States which has either of these items. If I had I would not frequent that establishment again.

I don't know what survey you read, but everyone in my town flies their flag with pride. I'm in charge of maintenance at my work, we proudly fly our flag 24/7
