Its a really good film - also a Christmas classic - but don't let that put you off - its a great film to see all year round.
Its a about a guy who is going through a bad patch contempates committing sucide cause he thinks that no one would miss him once he is gone, and that he has been a failure and contributed nothing in life. He meets an angel on the bridge, while he is pondering suicide, who shows him how many people love him - and what his hometown would have been like if he had not been born (very horrible place) and this shows him that he is loved and that he contributed something worthwile in life.
Its a great film, defo worth watching

It is a wonderful film. I love Jimmy Stewart. I have watched it EVERY YEAR from as far back as I can remember. One year, I saw it (4) times. I have it on VHS and DVD. It means different things to different people.
This is what it means to me:
It is very heart-warming. It is one of those movies that shows you there is hope, even when you think there isn't any hope at all. It shows that everyone is important in someone else's life, even if it doesn't feel that way all the time. It shows that the "little guy" counts too. "It's A Wonderful Life" proves that all things are possible.

It's a Wonderful Life is probably one of the best films ever. It has a great story and you really grow to care about George Bailey. You feel sometimes that you are him and all his troubles are your troubles. If you don't like it then that's your opinion, but it is one of those films that if you love it, you really love it. I've cried each time I've watched. It's also quite dark at times, he gets suicidal, and frustrated because his life isn't going the way it should.
And well, trust me, you should see it. Then make up your own mind.

I just saw it this year for the first time (I'm 25) and I've been having people say, "Oh my gosh! You've never seen it?" to me since as far back as I can remember...I didn't know what to expect, and frankly, am not too much of a fan of old, black and white movies other than a select few. But, I watched it, and I adored it...it's as poignant and wonderful as everyone says, and is definitely worth watching. You don't have to wait 'til Christmas either, it's message would work all year round. I highly recommend it, and I'll be watching it every year from now on! : )

Let me tell you, I was in Scotland summer of last year and we had this discussion, it came about I had never seen the film either and there was uproar! Apparently I haven't lived and should never again publicly admit that I have never seen it! It best be something special when I do come about watching it!!

It is a very good film. Its a good one to watch if you are feeling a bit undervalued at times. I wish they would still show films like that on the tv regularly.

Yes I have it on video and it's fabulous. It's the sort of film that we used to watch on a Sunday afternoon in front of the log fire and a cup of tea. Watch it and remember how life used to be.
