Most of the so-called animal rights activists can and will go WAY ott over using animals in films. Often, even animated animals are claimed by them to be harmed.

It's a safety clause designed to try and prevent any litiginous action.

These "animal rights activists" even complained that penguins were exploited for the making of a recent Guinness advert shown in Ireland, despite the fact that it was blatantly obvious that no such exploitation occurred.
Idiots!

If they care so much about animals, they should look closer to home and stop all the abuse on animals in private homes up and down the country.

Because in the early days of film making, the animals were harmed.

In many of the cowboy films the horses really did go over the cliffs and die.

To make the horses fall while galloping as if being shot, they were trip wired. This caused the horse to break one or more legs or neck. So they were either shot because of the fall or died because of it!

This is why Monty Roberts learnt Horse Whispering. He has a magical way with horses but if you read his books on his own history you will understand why he went on his own journey of knowledge.

Look at the Tarzan movies of the 30's. You will see many animals being killed in them. They are not trained to behave dead, they are dead.

So this is why they put this information on films and ads, to show they have complied with the law.

It's a rating thing. If an animal gets sick or injured, through no fault of the filmmakers they aren't allowed to add this disclaimer. Repeat offenders will be investigated by the SPCA. Some countries, like China, have NO animal welfare laws.

previously we had PETA and different animal rights communities its very in all hazard yet on the grounds that then the only a threat movie i ought to think of of is nutrition, Inc yet they are no longer hurting them for the sake of the movie. The documentary in simple terms covers some stuff approximately what is going on at farms

It is a requirement imposed by the Hollywood community to show that the old days of animals being maimed and killed are behind them

It is not always true when they say that. For example, in Flicka, two horses died during the filming. But, because it was of no fault of the film makers, they were allowed to state it.

Because of those crazy PETA people who overreact to absolutely everything involving animals.

Simple...because some viewers are stupid. Some will think that they were hurt.

Because the people who run PETA are stupid and will prosecute over anything they can.
