My husband has woke at 5am to go to work since my son was born, and he is now 12 months old. What has worked for us is to let baby get up at the same time or shortly after. My son stays up for about an hour or two, then takes a long 3 hour nap. He goes down for the night at about 7:30 or 8:00. His doctor says he gets plenty of sleep with the routine we've established. For us, having him sleep longer wasn't really an option because he's such a light sleeper. After I set my routine to theirs, we've been smooth sailing ever since. Good luck! :)

You need to comfort the child and maybe even get them up for a snack. Leave them up until Dad leaves and then put them back in bed with a safe toy or two. Tell them nighty night and leave. Go back to bed yourself. If child cries, let them for about 5 minutes and then go in and comfort again, do not pick them up. You may pat their bottom or whatever but don't pick up. Reaffirm nighty night and after a minute or 2 leave again. In a week or 2 the child will get in the routine. Make sure child knows it's okay to play quietly in the bed. I had an early riser and this worked. He would play in bed for about 2 hours if he didn't go back to sleep. Hope this helps. Be firm but gentle.

You could play the tough love game and leave him to cry in his bed. This only works if it is just a little grizzle. Infants need to learn from word go that you can't come to them all the time. However, if he becomes distressed give him a cuddle, play some music for sleeping. Some parents use a dummy - i did for sleeping only. He may also need a feed at this time for that a baby's routine changes as they grow

Try keeping him up later at night. Also, you can put some toys and books in the crib so when he does wake up, he may decide to play for awhile before he wants out. This worked well for me.

You mean that your husband wakes the baby up I asume.
Keep the baby's door closed and use an intercom so you wont have any problem hearing if he/she wakes up..

essentially, you can't.
Sorry. this is life.
When that alarm goes off, it wakes up you... you wake up your husband... he makes noise... the baby wakes up and you may as well just go ahead and feed the baby.
