Depends on the situation and the culture...
Depends on the age difference...
Depends on the body language and non-verbal cues...
I suppose the bottom line is, if you don't like it...don't look.
And the answer is, no I don't often think it's pathetic.
I think it's pathetic when he dresses or behaves like a teenager, or worse uses his financial backing to speak for him...I think it's equally pathetic when she looks bothered ... and says nothing...

I don't ever really pay attention to what other people do. It isn't really my business. If a man does date a younger woman and the age difference is significant, I tend to wonder if the younger woman has psychological issues and is wanting a father figure. But that is about as much thought as I give it. I see couples all of the time that have a big age difference. I don't really give it much energy of thought.
There are better things to think about. Like, hey lets go take a hike out in the desert this morning while the sun is coming up. It is nice outside and the air is fresh and clean.
Just out of curiosity I will ask, are you asking this because of a guy you were with leaving you for a younger woman and now you are angry and spurned?

That, in itself, is pretty pathetic, what is even worse is that the older man believe the younger girls like him..they are wanting what he gives them in terms of money and possessions. He thinks he looks "cool" with that little teenybopper on his arm as he walks on the dance floor or out of the bar. If only those little girls could see him as he really is in the mornings. Oh well, just write me off as an Ex that's been there and seen it first hand...oh, it's been 9 years now wonder where all those young things are now that he just had to have when he was married to a woman?? Seems none of them want a single old man, just the married ones

depends on their ages. If you are talking May-December, then it might be a little sad and funny. But, older guys miss youth and the good old days. Trying to recapture what they once had. Now, if you are talking about underage, that definitely is a NO NO!!

Based on your earlier question it seems you have a chip on your shoulder. Your problem is probably with a particular older man and not older men in general. My opinion is if they're both into it what difference should it make to you.

Desperate is the word! It makes me wonder why he can`t get a date with someone his own age. What`s his problem? I think that`s why there`s so many dirty old men on the internet these days. They can be any thing they want.

it depends on how young she is. as long as she's above 25, say, and they are both mature enough to understand and accept that there might be differences due to the age gap, i don't have a problem with it. i wouldn't do it myself, though.

Naw...it's not a big concern, nor is it my business. At least the girl is not 15 or around there. Hey, I'm one of those "old men" myself.
