i stopped bein taught music when i was 14

As far as I know there is NO requirement to be taught music. I was taught music until I was 14, and could NOT wait for a legitimate NOT attend music. The time could be better spent on maths and english lessons.

Music is not compulsory at all - in fact you might be surprised to know that most subjects are not compulsory. However, it is included as part of a broad and balanced curriculum in most schools. Thus, most children will be taught music until they choose their options for GCSE at the end of Year 9.

I enjoyed music at school. I think it is important to concentrate on other areas other than Maths and English. I think up to year 9 should remain. I think there is something on Keystage 1, 2 and 3 requirements about music, as if there wasn't, it wouldn't be taught.

My son is in Year 9 and is doing compulsory music. He is choosing what subjects he wants to do to GCSE. Music is one of the lessons that is optional.

there is no age limit for learning music.... music can always be learnt for relaxation... infact it is one of the best ways to be free of tension and stress... after a long hour of study if a child is given a music class he wil not feel stressed out... he wil feel energetic to do his work when he gets back home....
