It is actually chellappa and not sellappa. it is opposite gender to chellamma. The girls are dearly called as chellamma (my dear girl ) and the boys are chellappa (my dear boy)

it is nothing but selling Appa....one who has the name will definitely put a price for his father........so the parents start reminding him from the childhood itself...Sell Appa...pls.
