Would you recommend me buying an iPod or Sony MP3 player and why?

Simple. An ipod.

Reasons:
The ipods are more universal. Other products are being manufactured specifically to be "connectable to Ipod" (eg. speaker systems, car stereos, clock radios, etc...)
Apple have been manufacturing MP3 products longer than Sony
Apple have mastered the technology using their computer technology background.
Sony's manufacturing, in some cases, has been more "hype" than actually delivering a reliable product.

Summary question: Do I work for Apple after stating the above?
Answer: No. I am an electronics engineer who designs audio products that are connectable to all types of portable media playing devices.

I would peronally buy an iPod because and iPod is a more trusted mp3 player and if you have any problem with it you can just go to one of the many Apple stores as to with sony's rare Sony Style store. Also because an Ipod is smaller and easier to use.

an ipod, you can hold more songs, it even has volume control, i have a black 30GB ipod video, i got it on Christmas 2005, the year it came out and it still works great, before i got an ipod, i use to have a phillips mp3 player, and it sucks, hard setting it up, and the thing keeps freezing and i had to exchange it for another one but then it did the same thing, so i was like "f**k it, i'm just gonna get the money back and use it towards an ipod" So thats the only Apple product i like, the Macs Suck.

if you are looking for something inexpensive i would say go for mp3 player but if no budget go for your ipod

if you go for the mp3 player i sudgest sansa sandisc i have droped on the concrete so many times then i got tired of having it and i threw it on the concrete so hard and flung it and just like killed it or so i thought it still works perfectly but i dont advise to try it at home

and if you get an ipod i cant sudgest anything i know nothing about them
