My wife just delivered our 2nd child, a baby girl, healthy! Praise the Lord! bust she had to go through hysterectomy, which she had no idea yet during the delivery, since she passed out on c section and had lots of bleeding. I had to make the decission, based on 2 doctors' suggestions due to life saving.
I informed her about it on the 2nd day, after she was out of the ICU, she was sad, but can understand and accepted it, though sometimes she still cries, her question which I could not answer is:
How will it effect to our sex life? Anyone can help us on this answer?

I had one at age 33 and I have no REGRETS. The best thing ever and sex only got better. Don't have to worry about all the pms and cramps etc. I think she will be fine. The only issues she may have is if she still wanted more children but as far as sex, no problems!

I had a girlfriend who had a hysterectomy at age 32. It will affect your sex life for maybe 2-3 months, but then you should realize once she gets beyond the psychological and biological changes that she can't get pregnant. Obvious physical and mental changes will happen to her, but your sex life shouldn't be affected in the long run. She's going through major changes--her whole character has been altered. Some females feel as though they have lost something special when they can't go through child birth anymore. I know you have two children (thank God). So did my girlfriend, but she still felt kind of like she lost something special. Hang in there, things will change for the better. Let her heal and be patient. Things will improve all around.

first off be slow and loving

remember this is part of being a woman
now she has lost part of it

yes we crab out periods and labor and such but it is just like a breast it is part of being a woman and it hurts to find out you are not whole anymore you are only part of a woman

also take the sex issue slow and understand it will be different

for some woman it is painful and the sex drive goes way down
we get our signals from the uterus to make hormones and she wont have that anymore

they will give her "the pill" to keep her hormone levels straight
just be loving and supportive and caring
and plz make sure you communicate ALL YOUR FEELINGS AND THOUGHTS

you will both get through this with the help of the love of your child

A lot depends on what they removed and how they removed it.

If all they removed is the womb itself, then there will be no hormonal effects other than that she'll probably go through menooause a few years earlier than would otherwise have been the case.

If they removed her ovaries as well, then either she'll have to go on hrt or shell become steadily more masculine.

Her vagina will be slightly shorter, but that isn't usually noticeable.

what is done is done... i would not have advised to get it but anyway...

as far as sex life goes.. the sexual enjoyment comes from the vaginal area...and therefore does not effect sex life... she will be fine once is completely healed.. and doctors give her the all clear.. will take a while... also... realize.. becasue of the traum this puts in taht area in general.. you will have to go slow... ok..?

It won't effect her sex drive at all, in fact she'll more than likely desire sex more often than even she thought possible. She'll be wanting it more and more as she gets older. Use her daily.
