They won't, but it has more to do with irrational hatred of muslims and nothing to do with worthiness of Turkey to join. They will say it has to do with human rights but it is all about religion.

I think very highly of Turkey, but, am saddened by the detente over Cyprus. I think partitioning Cyprus into two autonomous zones, with one unifying government to provide for their military and diplomatic needs would be a great way to satisfy both parties, and also get Turkey into the EU.
