I loved this movie.
He dies from morphine overdose which he had the nurse (Juliette Beunosh???) give him. He had told her the story that he went back to the cave and she (Kirsten Scott Thomas) had died, he was flying her back and the plane was shot down and that was how he got burnt. Did you miss why she was in the cave? Her husband had found out about their affair and crashed the plane and she was hurt and he (her husband Colin Firth) was killed. Since the plane was crashed, Ralf Finnes has to walk out of the dessert to try and get help, he is detained due to war going on and by the time he gets back, she is dead.
The war was over and the nurse hitches a ride out of there. Happy to be alive.

i was about to fall asleep too!
He trys to save the girl from the cave but gets arrested and sells the info to the germans to get a plane but when he gets there she dead :(
He then puts her in the plane and flys home but is shot down by the germans!
Good movie though!

In the end, the stewardess loses her job because she behaved like a foolish, foolish girl.

he finally gets back to the cave to find her dead body quite a long boring film really

Both of the main leads die. Good thing too, they were selfish and revolting people.
