oh, I did this yesterday, I went into the kitchen and thought after a moment of confusion "I came in here for what?", went back into the first room to magically remember what it was I was looking for. Sad really.

Constantly. I go, then I get distracted by something, forget what I came for...then remember when I've left the room.

usually I just forget and never remember or remember hours later. but I rarely experience your question.
my most usual experience is forgetting what I am about to say in the middle of a conversation. And I'm only 35.
