I'm young, I am an artist, and I don't have that much money. With that said, I still took a percentage out of my income and gave it to Ron Paul's campaign. I figured as little as I could contribute would help in the long run, and thankfully, there several people like me out there who felt the same way. The reason I bring this up is because I think it depends on the candidate how much they are raising. RP is known for bringing in record-breaking funds, because of his ideas on the community working together to make something happen. Now, bringing that to this election... I don't think the campaign funding will start to show an increase until it is finalized who the nominations are. John McCain doesn't really need to rely on fund right now because basically he is secure in the position. Once the democratic nominee is named, however, we may see a big turn of events. Also, like Ralph Nader "stole" democratic votes from Gore, we still have Nader and Paul who are likely to be deemed "taking away from the big picture." Ridiculous idea in my opinion -- voting for whoever is most likely to win defeats the purpose of voting at all, but through advertising and being afraid to break traditional norms, this doesn't seem like the year that will change. Soon -- yes, but not this year. So, what does this have to do with money? Money isn't very important when it comes to campaigning. If it were, Ross Perot would have been president in -- what, '96? Ron Paul would be the current nominee as well. I think McCain knows what he is doing with his funds -- and whether or not he is elected will prove if he will be good for our economy. If he can strategize correctly, not spend as much money, and get into office, then I think the United States may have good things to come for it in that particular aspect. It's so hard to tell though. I mean, I don't know where he is going to go from here financially, so there's no way of me making a valid opinion on that particular area yet. My personal opinion is that fundraising for campaigning is disasterous. We all know these candidates have enough money to do the jobs themselves. Heck, if someone wants someone else to run the country enough, then they will support them for free. Unfortunately, due to corporate America, that won't work. As a Republican, it sucks to say that FOX news is going to take bribes and continue taking bribes from the Right Wing in order to send their message out. I think it comes down to who can get the best deal from their unnamed and obvious campaigners -- and if it comes down to who has more money at that point, then I don't want the person who has the most money. They can buy out anyone to make us believe they are the number one choice. I know this isn't an answer that provides statistics or technicalities -- it's an answer that is based on blind trends and what I have noticed. Unfortunately, it is an answer that most people don't think about. So hopefully, if you have not already thought in this light, it will give you more to process when weighing out the numbers.

In the state of Georgia, the Democrats lost seats in both the US Congress as well as in the State Legislature. The Democrat Lt Governor challenged the Republican Governor, during an upswing in the state's economy and lost, allowing a Republican to take that seat as well, and the Republicans took the Secretary of State position in Georgia, as well. How do I feel about this? Dunno. I'm not with either party, anymore, as I often see those we elect end up being corrupt fools. I do know the Georgian economy is still growing, and there are at least 6 alternative fuel stations to be completed in the state by the year 2015, increasing the awareness of fuels that will help break the stranglehold of foreign oil on us. Alot of human trafficking has been routed from their hiding places, lately, in the news, and that makes me more comfortable about what they do, but, I dunno about any plans of mine to return to the party. We'll wait and see... Aside from that? I don't think the GOP will fall apart. They, and the Democrats, have been around almost as long as our great nation.

Things like this always have a certain ebb and flow. The Republicans will eventually get back some, if not all of these losses, and then they'll lose them again....
Therefore, "falling apart" is not the right term to choose. It probably would be better to say that it "suffered some setbacks".

In a word, YES. And they're pretty sore about it too. Just look at what they resort to all day, posting silly anti-liberal rhetoric on Y!A. As if the liberals caused the downfall of the republican party. Yeah, it couln't be that guy named "scooter", or the one guy who liked sending paiges dirty emails. Or maybe that their boss lied about going to war and WMD's and whatever else I'm not mentioning. Yep, gay marriages ruined it for them.
From a Liberal: We're sorry you conservatives are such sore losers. Better luck in 2016.

Not falling apart, but because an election is looming and those who want to stay in the fight need to disassociate themselves from the current administration. You see this with every difficult term in office.
