My friend passed their test a while ago like Nov 05' I know that you have 2 yrs to send off the pass test certificate. About two weeks b4 the test my friend was stopped by the police for driving with no insurance and no licence and then in Feb 06' was given 6 points on his licence does this mean that he can no longer drive as he has 6 points or because the offence was committed before he passed his test it will be okay. Please let me know as I don't really wanna be driving with him if he can get stopped.

Oh yeah and the points were put on his provisional licence but he still has the pass test certificate and has not yet sent it back.

I understand the corncerns but he did pass his test after he was stopped and told the police that he was going for his test. So he did TRY and do something right!

I would have thought that he was banned after the Feb 06 incident. I would advise you to have a look at his license (if he has one) as twelve points within two years of passing your test usually results in a ban. The fact that he got some of the points before passing his test is irrelevent (though it may make the courts impose a stiffer sentence). On the information you have supplied I doubt your freind holds a valid license and so even if he does have insurance, it is not valid. Of course I could be wrong and he may now be driving legally with a lot of points and a heafty insurance premium. The days of uninsured drivers only getting caught if they had an accident are long gone (good thing too), these days police cars with ANPR can flag a car that has no insurance or MOT as it drives past.

Don't drive with him - he has no licence! That means he's got no insurance, I bet no road tax - you have NO IDEA of the state of his car - are you even certain he passed his test?

This man is a danger on the road, and he is the reason why my car tax is so high. Do yourself a favour - save your own life and NEVER get into a car with him driving.
