In doing this, is Microsoft Access needed? If so, please cite some RELIABLE websites wherein codes regarding this case would be expected to appear...in an intuitive approach for beginners like me....thanks. Any reliable source would be highly appreciated and rewarded...lol.

ummm...i would like to stress that any online application will not be used in this project...It is stated that the program that will be used will be visual basic. The scenario goes on like this... the database has a certain mechanism that will record all the personal information of any user who will state their name and credentials, in response to the program's request of authorization...

It's not clear what problem you're trying to solve here... you'll need to re-ask in terms of what the final result should look like, not what languages to use. You're getting very confused with what would be necessary to create a "guestbook or log book"... for example, is this for online use? The answer to that question has direct bearing on whether or not it even makes sense to use those tools to build the book.

Access would just be one option. If you're staying very simple with this any guest entries could simply be written out to a text file. Without any further info it is hard to make a recommendation.

extra appropriate yet... why want a e book? some thing a author-god would pick us to charm to close will be encoded in purpose truth... and IS, if a author-god exists. hence any e book that contradicts purpose truth isn't from that god, yet truly from human beings passing themselves off as his/her/its reps.
