(x/y) ^ n = x^n / y^n

or x^n(y^(-n)

for example

(1/2) ^3 = 1^3/2^3= 1/8

or 1^3 * 2^(-3) = 1/8

a^-b = 1/a^b so 2^-5=1/2^5 .Nothing further

For n = positive

(x/y)^(-n)
=(y/x)^n

Just simply reverse the numerator and denominator.
