Is the story in any way true or is it based on something that happened maybe, ie like an urban legend

Inspired by the true story of the Niland brothers. Sgt. Frederick Niland was in the 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne. "Band of Brothers," produced by Steven Speilberg and Tom Hanks, told the story of another 101st Airborne unit, Easy Company of the 506th PIR.

It is true and the family of boys grew up just about 25 miles from where I live in Pilot Mound Iowa.

I think it did happen, but this particular case isn't true. Just based on something that used to happen and the characters and situation is invented.

It is a true story and very sad my son is in the air force and he wanted me to watch it with him and it was one of the hardest thing s i had to do because it really touches your heart and makes you realize what our soldiers go through every day!!

the story itself is not completely true. However the aspects of the hardship and pain in war are true (probably worse for real.)
The storyline is very believable because i am sure there really were situation very simalar to it.

the basic premise of the story is true, it's just been made to fit into the structure of the film, oh and the british/ canadians/ french/ polish took part in ww2.

I think it definitely could have happened. I know that it is loosely based on a true event.
