There is a lot of free software available.

ANTIVIRUS: My favorites are AVG at www.grisoft.com,
then AVAST at www.avast.com

SPYWARE CLOBBERERS: Spybot S&D at www.safer-networking.org and Ad-Aware at www.lavasoftusa.com

FIREWALL: Zone Alarm at www.zonelabs.com

LOL Everyone has their choice of anti-virus software, personally I like Norton, have never had a problem with it and it has saved me from viruses many times... its all a matter of ones opinion. Use what is right for you, do some research and choose, anything is better than nothing and you can always change to something better. Do keep in mind though (regardless of what everyone raves) You do get what you pay for, FREE is just that. One with a good firewall is a great idea also.

Using Linux rather than Windows is the best free internet security software.

Norton is over-rated, I've tried it, AVG, Panda, and Mcafee.

To be honest I found Mcafee to be best.

Although if you are looking for a free anti-virus programe then AVG is spot on. Infact when my girlfriends subscription to Mcafee runs out then I'll most prob go back to AVG.

I use Norton Internet Security. It has anti-virus, firewall and anti-spam which suited to my security needs.

Zone Alarm has its gliches also - it`s not that good!
Norton has it`s good and bad points.
AVG is not to bad.
If you are on the internet without anitvirus & antispyware, you`re either brave or crazy :-)
