I'm not sure where you heard that from, but any computer "besides a mac" can be upgraded. It's just a standard Dell case with regular parts built by the manufacturer.

Just remember that once you modify the computer while it still under warranty, you've voided the agreement.

sure you can if you know what your doing. I have a dell dimension 5150 and have already installed a second dvd/cd read/write and am getting ready to install more memory as well.

it depends what you are doing but essentially you can upgrade the whole system but id watch out with the logic board AKA the mother board, and the processor
