To actually be classified with a phobia you have to meet the symptoms in the DSM-IV psychological manual. It's called the diagnostic statistical manual. There are several psychological sites that can tell you the criteria. Just type in "symptoms of a phobia".....and you should get several hits. I'm to tired to go look it up.....and I don't even know what phobia you're speaking of. Sorry. We all fear certain things........to what extent is where the phobias come in. Good luck

well if you have a fear of something that is illogical, and it impairs your daily functioning, then you have a phobia. for instance, many peopel are afraid fo death, its logical because its crossing a border you dont know whats on the other side. but if this fear of death keeps you from doing anything dangerous, therefore anything fun, you might hav ea phobia. also if someone is afraid of dogs, tahts not really normal, but if it doestn affect daily functioning, it would not have to be considered a phobia. if a person does not walk outside at all because they are afraid they will meet a dog, thats a phobia

A phobia is being significantly scared of something. So say, you were scared of spiders, if you saw one you would be shaking, sweating, slurring your words or inability to speak, chest pains, heart paltipations [heart skipping a beat] and have a squeezing feeling in your throat or feeling of something being stuck in your throat. All these symptoms are symptoms of a panic attack. The best thing to do if you have a panic attack is to sit calmly and drink warm water.

If you are extremely scared of something, or if something constantly nags at you when nothings there (like fearing seeing a spider, when one isnt there).
