I have a large poinsettia still from Christmas. It's lost the majority of it's leaves but is still hanging in there. Will it die off completely, or can I keep it for next year? If so, how should I care for it - best location, frequency of watering etc?

i was able to keep a poinsettia for about 2 years now. you have to water it twice a day (morning and afternoon at around 5pm) and keep it away from direct sunlight. what i am doing with my poinsettia is to put it outside in the afternoon till the next morning and before noon, i keep it away from direct sunlight. i bought it december of 2005 for about a feet tall and now, it's almost at my height and i started for two pots and i already have 10 also from the same plant that i bought before. it really was very interesting to care for ponsettia plants..

enjoy your plant and hope that my advise could help you keep that...

I've never managed to keep a Poinsettia yet. It's the only plant that's defeated me. I think they're programmed to last only for the Christmas period. Sorry, not helped have I?

relies upon the place you reside. interior the southern US positioned its pot outdoors in April and save it outdoors, removed from the porch gentle or any gentle in any respect all night long. deliver it in earlier the 1st frost. whether it rather is beginning as much as coach color you're residing house unfastened. If no longer, save it in a spare room or glassed porch, basically letting it have organic image voltaic. No synthetic gentle in any respect till it starts off to coach pink bracts. Fertilizer: a severe-phosphorus fertilizer with micronutrients. Poinsettias could have only a splash Boron (between the micronutrients) to thrive.
