you can probably tell from my other questions that i am going through a court ordeal right now....my ex-boyfriend is in debt and is claiming that he and i are common law married. I just found out that he has 5 people (whom 3 of them i've never met) that will say that they were introduced to me as my ex-boyfriends wife....it's just crazy....he never called me his wife....
how can someone lie in a court of law and have other people lie in a court of law and get by with it?
i have a good feeling that the judge sees right through these lies as there is no proof of any marriage by any way, shape or form...
How does a person handle this type of situation?
I'm being taken through the wringer by him and he has never called me his wife...it's just crazy....

All you can do is go into court and be honest. Judges are pretty good at seeing the truth. My ex husband went into court loaded with lies about me using drugs and having sex in front of our children, his friends got up in court and lied for him too. The judge saw right through it though. Have faith, it will work out the way it's supposed to.

guys have guts let me tell you. the judge will listen to both sides. hopefully you have a good attorney. perhaps you need witness that could help you. question: how long were you with him? that is the big question. illinois, you have to be living together for seven years to be considered married.
You need someone that you can lean on that will be your back bone. YOu need it. Yes! you are going through the wringer. MY x put me through it. your better then him so act like it. and in court too. prove your case. go in there with your head held high. do what you can so you can walk out of there knowing you did it or that you tried.
you really need a support system. good luck

News flash you are common law married if you live with someone for one year here in alberta. Then you really are married in the eyes of the law without paper work. But now if there is nothing to substantiate it (leases, address coincidences) then hes really got a very small chance of proving his case. I suggest you get a lawyer.
