Would you choose to show off your faith to others (by pentacle showing or whatever) or would you choose to hide it as an attempt to not accidently convert people?

Its always been empowering. I choose to not advertise my beliefs and wear my pentacle hidden. The triquetra I wear is always shown however. I will answer any questions people may have, but don't go around preaching.

And you don't "accidentally convert" people. People choose the path, or the path chooses them. Seeing an article of clothing or jewelry won't convert anyone, no matter which faith.

I wear a pentacle. Funnily enough, all the religions use a pentacle or pentagram somewhere. An interesting fact is that like all symbols it was discovered by people, and made up by people. Study the planet Venus, because that is the pattern Venus makes in the sky, due to the movement on it and the earth. It really has no deep meaning except for what people care to give to it, but it is amazing that it is made in the sky by the movement of planets!!

I would not say it is empowering, I am spiritually content with being Wiccan because it makes me feel complete.
For telling people, I do that a lot, when I feel that they will not be subjective and berrate me for my choice of beliefs; Wiccans and indeed all Pagans in general only enlighten people who wish to learn about their faith, they never go out of their way to convert someone. Sharing knowledge is just as fulfilling and one of the best things you can do for others.

I suppose however, in the Real World, I am what you could consider a closed-in Witch, I don't wear anything that reveals to anyone of my beliefs except for Sabbats and other gatherings of witches I am friends with in my local area.

It is empowering to be comfortable within your own skin. I was never comfortable within the catholic framework. Once I learned about paganism, it was like something clicked in my head and I realized I was not alone.

As for wearing pagan symbols and converting people, well, are you saying that by wearing a cross or star of david that christians and jews convert non-christians and jews? That doesn't speak well for the general populace. As a rule, I do not "convert" anyone. If someone asks, I answer. My way may not be right for someone else, and it is up to the individual to find out what they are comfortable with. One of the big things that attracted me to paganism is the fact that they freely admit they are not the "only way" and that other paths are just as viable as this one.

As for the jewelry I wear, I wear 2 - 3 pagan rings, and a trip moon pendant with 2 of my totems on a thong every day. I do not wear them to make people ask or to convert anyone. I wear them just like a christian would wear a cross. Because it makes me feel good.

Personally, I live in the south where there is still a lot of fear. I choose to wear a goddess necklace at all times for many reasons. It was a gift, and is a beautifull symbol of my faith, but also, nobody recognizes it as a symbol of Paganism, so at work where everyone is very christian, and around my family which is also very religous I dont have to worry about unexpected inquiries about it. It's much easier to be a pagan today than 10 years ago, but it's still not without it's dangers

I wear my pentacle around my neck. I do not go out talking to any and everyone about my religion. I hardly talk about it unless it is to others of wicca or I am asked questions about it..

I do not feel that someone can or will be converted unless they find this is the right path for them, and they enter it with love in their heart.

You can't 'accidently' convert people by wearing a pentagram. Could you 'accidently' become a christian by looking at someone wearing a cross? Most people don't know the real meaning behind Paganism or Wicca anyway.

I don't think so I do know some pagans and a few witches and the only ones who seem to be empowered are so because of their personality not their religion

I wear a pentagram on a chain, nearly everyone has said to me' I didnt know you were jewish' ! When I say it is a Pentagram they just give me a blank look becaues they are not sure what it is! if I am asked what it is I tell them if not asked i say no more. Everyone has their own beliefs so I would not try to convert any one, if they want to know more they will ask! then they can make up their own minds.

Very empowering for me. I'm a solitaire, and I feel my religion is very personal, so I never go any further than a crystal around my neck, and that is mainly for protection.
