Try the windows.
Use a stick to hook keys through the letterbox that may be hanging near the door.
If the keys in the other side of the lock push paper under the door and pop the key out with a screwdriver.
I did this and called a locksmith as mine is impossible to get into. He charged £65 on a friday night at 12:30 am. Not bad I thought.

drill the lock out. use a pilot drill first say a 3mm, then go up to a 10mm. if that doesnt work use a 12-15mm, but it must be done incrementaly 3mm 5mm 6.5 mm 10mm ect. try and drill out with a 12 mm you'll rip the hands off yourself. be visible make sure your neighbours know what your doing and who you are, smash glass windows as a last resort. 6mm float glass is expensive a new door lock is a hell of a lot cheaper even for quality.

won't solve your imediate problem, but try this.
1. lock youself in and forget where you have left the key.
2. After an hour find the key and remember where you left it
3. Next time you lock yourself out......remember when you locked yourself in and remember where you left your key.
4. Look anywhere other than the place that you left the key in 2 above cos its bound to be elsewhere
5. move house and get a new set of keys.
6. THEN :- ALWAYS REMEMBER WHERE THE NEW KEYS ARE

Smash a window or kick the door down - I suppose the best way to avoid any of those scenarios is to leave a key with a neighbour (make sure they're not violent, stalkery, theiving lunatics tho'!)

Me and my sister had to permit ourselves in via fact the age of roughly 7 and eight. We had a bookbag that had a key ring interior the decrease zipper area and that way we on no account had to take the keys out of our bag. We on no account lost our residing house keys via fact had we ever finished it we could have been sitting outdoors till 6-7 pm waiting on mom to get residing house. If we did no longer ever loose ours i do no longer see how an adolescent won't be able to furnish up loosing theirs. i do no longer guess there could be a punishment basically having her stay at a friends residing house till you get finished at artwork, then they are able to do their homework mutually.

Hide a spare key in the garden. you can buy false rocks that have a hollow to hide a key in would be easy to make one in a tree branch too as long as it's well hidden in a secluded spot

Try to find a window unlocked or use a credit card to slide it between the lock and the plate and if you have a dead bolt you are out of luck short of breaking a window.

I lost mine before and I smashed the backdoor window with a brick. The key was in the door. I think I need to tighten up my security!
