Yes. Tigers are heavily built and are powerful than lions. The biggest of all the cats is the Siberian tiger.

I'm sorry but stocky and compact don't go together. The tiger is stockier than the lion but is not more compact by any means. The tiger is the largest and heaviest cat on earth. Some males can weigh 700 lbs and be up to 10 feet in length. They are known for their strength but they are not compact. You can find lots of information with citation below.

yes tiger is better than lion...
fact is if you try to arrange a fight tigers would win hands down..
(Male tiger VS. Male Lion, Female Tiger VS Male lion, Female Tiger VS. Female Lion) in all this category tiger Wins..
Tigers are more independent fighters while lions hunt in groups. Female lions
groups do most of the hunting, while the males do little in comparison.
Male tigers would be a safe bet in one to one contest with male lions. Female
tigers are probably the most outstanding of the lot.
