Ebay question- When it the best time for bidding to end?

To ensure that as many as people as possible are online bidding on it at the last minute (seems to be when the price goes up the most). Have any experienced ebayers noticed a trend in this?

I try and make mine end early evening, usually between 7pm and 9pm as that is when most people are on. And when I am buying things I try and look for things that end during the day or very late at night.

This is because they are logged onto a sniper site.

A sniper site can start from free for you to use and what happens is this. You tell the sniper site your ebay details, then what your max bid amount is, then it bids for you minsutes or even seconds before the auction ends

You may be thinking "how does that make you auctomatically win?" -it doesnt. What is does do is give you a far better chance.
For e.g, how many times have you thought "I want nthat bag for £50, put £50 into ebay as your max bid, then seen others bid above you and change your mind thinking- "well I love the bag so much, its unlikely there will be another one so I'll bid £60." you see originally they only would have paid 49 but they saw your bid and changed thier mind. and then two days later someone sees this £60 and bids £61...etc
Heres where an auction sniper works, someone puts up a bag, starting price of 0.99p. You want the bag for £50. You tell the sniper site this. the person who before would have bid against you put in to ebay (not the sniper site) the bid of £49. So far ebay thinks ther is only one bidder. And this bidder is willing to pay upto £49. They havent considered paying anything more as they think they are the only bidder.
Auction is near finishing. So far just the one bid, max £49. As no one else has bidded it remains low at 0.99p The at the last minute the auction sniper bids £50 on your behalf. This automatically makes you the highest bidder. When the other person sees this, they are either too late to put in a higher bid, dont have the time to consider paying more or cant get the computer to send over your bid fast enough!
Auction ends, you win the bag at £50.

I used to always end my auctions on a Sunday afternoon, but now with so many people using pc's all day long it doesn't seem to matter as much.
However, I would agree that about 7pm to 9pm is a good time. I would avoid mornings due to commuting to work/school runs etc.

hi, Sunday evenings are the reputable best time but unfortunatly ebays servers cant handle the load so there is always a delay in bidding and opening pages,i think it is dependent on external factors like cup finals etc-avoid these times at all costs

According to a book I bought about trading on eBay, the best time to set an auction to end is on a Sunday, through until about Monday lunchtime.

Bout 8pm on a sunday evening. Loads of people wanting to chill and having the time to after weekend and kids in bed etc. happy selling.

I find that my items reach the highest price if they end between 7pm and 8pm on a weekday.

Weekends are better than during the day, but weekday evenings are the best.

Sunday evenings. Thats when most people are logged on and more likely to make an impulse buy to cheer themselves up when thinking about the new working week about to start

If you give the seller a message to say that you need a little more time to pay for the item it should be fine. Communication is the key. Hope everything works out. :)

Weekday evenings between 7pm and 9pm but avoid times when really popular programmes are on like Eastenders!
