hmmm... this is a REALLY good question.

myself, i am in a relationship with someone i have been with for over 3 years. and i know to some it might not seam all that long, but i already feel like i know my partner inside and out. in my situation, i dont think i will ever really be able to predict with a anything close to a 100% accuracy what my partner will do. that is one of the things i love about him. he is unpredictable. nothing is ever boring with him. he is always doing something silly... so in my case, yes it does make our relationship more stable because we have known each other for a while, and it still continues to be enjoyable because we never really do know what will happen.

but again this is in my case, in other people's i suppose i could understand if it did get boring. i guess the key is finding someone who is constantly changing... that is, if you dont like the instability.
