different than their own, for example, if you don't condone homsexuality, but say nothing hateful you're considered a gay basher and even threatened with legal action for just simpily stating your opinion that homosexual behavior is abnormal or in yor view perverse. Can someone explain this without insulting comments? As I would really like to know.

Heck yes, it has gone too far. The same person screaming about a so-called "hate crime," thinks she should be allowed to repeatedly post blogs insulting me, calling me a liar, calling me psychotic, and bringing a very scary person to her page to continually harrass me.

Yes, PC has gone too far, when we have lost our ability to simply treat others the way we expect to be treated, accept the repercussions for treating others disrespectfully, and refusing to end a battle that will only result in the loss of many decent people from this site.

I think the same people crying about some alleged and vague and fairly non-existent "hate crime" of free speech, have apparently not heard of the very real crime of libel and/or defamation of character. Any claim of harrassment is a total 2-way street, if it exists anywhere but in the recesses of someone's over-active imagination.

Haha I have to laugh at all the conservatives claiming PC as a liberal problem. Try protesting the war and see how many PC right wingers tell you that you're wrong. Suggest that negotiation is a better foreign policy than war and see how many PC right wingers jump down your throat. Tell them you're an atheist and see the right wing PC machine tell you how stupid you are. Try having a legal medical procedure and the right wing PC crowd will call you the dirtiest name in the book...

I agree with Answerman, by the way. Did your parents teach you manners? If so then you should know that you don't insult people just because they're different from you.

In many ways I think PC has gone too far, it isn't in what a person's opinions are that I at times find "offending" but in the way they express those opinions. Yes we do have freedom of speech and we should exercise that freedom frequently..but I do believe that with that freedom comes responsibility..you can voice your thoughts, opinions and not have it sound as a personal attack but simply as a person who has an opinion they wish to share. Dialogue is good thing, but when dialogue turns to attacks, that I find "offensive".

Paul, pc is just being polite, disagreement with someones politics does not come under this, just because you feel homosexuality is wrong does not mean that it is or it isn't it is just how you feel. I think I know of what you speak and that was harassment, repeated messages. This by the way is a criminal offense. Not for how you feel but the continual harassment of the participant. Anyone is allowed, as should be to state their opinion however sometimes we cross a line.

Yes PC has gone too far. What are you a gay homo? Nah, just kidding. I know what your saying. Your definitley right about it going too far. I think homosexuality is gross and weird, they have every riight to do what they want. Get married, enjoy gay life, fine. Just don't try and convert me like the holy-rollers. This is America, do what you want as long as you don't hurt the unwilling. But freedom of speech, well, it's freedom of speech. Say what ya think.

I know. I just got a violation because of an answer I gave, where I call someone dense and advise to do research before posting a question. It got deleted! Can you believe that ****? People here are getting to sensitive.

It is a direct assault on freedom of speech. If you can not change the law you teach the children the desired sentiment and reinforce the "sensitivity" they must have. It is very similar to what was done to American Indian children to try and erase their heritage. You isolate the children and teach them what you want them to know and you use your public figures to mouth the same words to the adults. It is a back door approach to redefining words and meanings to a standard that is consistent to socialism and government domination.

Yes, all this oversensitivity has become ridiculous. The thing that gets me is that the PC speech doesn't seem to apply to all people though. It does seem that if you have a moral or religious stand then you are definitely going to be labeled as someone who is politically INcorrect. I don't get it either.

The Constitution guarantees us free speech but the PC Police take that right away all the time. Now we call free speech a HATE CRIME! If I am calling anyone a NAME it is not usually a person I LIKE...but I don't HATE them.

WHY can't I say I don't like the gay lifestyle? It's my opinion and I don't force it on anyone. A certain lesbian on this site doesn't like stay-at-home moms - calls us SLAVES in her blog - seems to me THAT is a hate crime too. I am offended because I am certainly not a slave to my husband yet it's in the blog that we all are for everyone to read.

The only thing I can tell you is that this whole damn world has gone crazy. Even Yahoo seems to be leaning on PC in their attitudes. My dog gets mad if I make him sleep in the floor. He just looks at me like he is thinking of turning me in for animal cruelty.
When you find out let me know.
