I don't know. If a husband or wife has tested positive for sti's, then a condom is a good idea. It's also good for pregnancy protection sometimes like if she's on 'the pill' and taking antibiotics condoms must be used as back up.

You should ask him why he wants to use a condom Usually, a husband and wife doesn't want to use a condom unless you both agreed to wait on having children.

My ex wife got off the pill and then made me start using a condom. I don't know if she cheated at that point, but she was talking to her new husband, but she did want to make sure we didnt have another child.

Husband either knows that he has been with someone and thinks or knows that he has contracted some type of STD and doesn't want wife to catch it.Or the wife suspects that husband has been messing around on her and is leaving nothing to chance.

Is it for birth control? If not then it must be for disease issues. Have they both been tested for STD's? I would hope to enjoy sex without a condom with my husband-what's up with that!?

Either pregnancy or she is unsure of the husbands faithfulness. Have you cheated in the past? That would be one of the things you may want to talk about along with STD's and pregnancy. I suggest the both of you get complete STD testing at your doctor's office so you both know neither has anything. If she is worried about pregnancy then she can get on the pill. Then maybe she may feel more comfortable...but ultimately it's still up to her comfort level with it.

The common reasoning leads to the following presumptions. 1) To avoid your pregnancy. 2) To avoid the spread of STDs, which he might have acquired from elsewhere and vice versa. This reply should not be a cause for the strained relationship between you and your husband.

Assuming you are a faithful husband free from STD's it
would be to prevent pregnancy. I suggest a trip to the gynecologist and fitting for a diaphragm.

1. To avoid pregnancy in the first instance.

2. To prolong the sex, if he is not able to hold long enough due to over excitement.
