such a huge percentage of U.S. citizens are either illiterate—too lazy to learn their own language—or are too lazy to use it correctly? Maybe most of our citizens really ARE mentally challenged...can't string together a few words using caps correctly, a spell checker and correct punctuation to make a comprehensible sentence.
What is the reason for U.S. citizens not knowing United States / American English...lack of exercise...lack of sleep? Could it be lack of fresh, raw, organic food? Are the illiterate people eating food poisoned with pesticides and herbicides—food also grown in ever more poisoned soil, and watered with poisoned ground water? Is it causing brain damage?
Illiterate Americans are a huge embarrassment to those of us who respect ourselves. I'm not talking about an occasional mistake.
If you know other languages, go into those rooms and see for yourselves. If you don't know other languages, go into the UK & Ireland room...but be prepared for a shock.

Well if you notice, most who can't type a cogent English sentence are usually talking about something stupid, hateful, or just plain crazy. And no one has to know English anymore; the government doesn't insist on any educational standards anymore. Just come here to Florida, and listen to the citizens who think it is their God-given right to speak Spanish and not even bother to learn English. They work anyway, expecting others to conform to them. And remember this, also. Not everyone can be completely intelligent. We need ditch-diggers too.

If those morons want to judge us as a group, then that's them. You may be taking this whole thing a little too seriously. Why do you care what the rest of the world thinks of us? President Bush sure doesn't. That's like saying all Irish people are drunks. Some may be but I'm certain all of them aren't. Or one idiot that had a question, "Why do blacks commit 200% more crimes than others?" That's his own stupid ideas. All people of color be they black or whatever are not just crime laden. If someone from another culture is using this as a way to educate themselves about a people/culture/country, they are only getting a snapshot of real life in the USA. I believe the lack of grammatical correctness is just because people are in a hurry. I guess they forget about the spell check too. If those people in the other rooms think they are better than the people in the US, they obviously have low self esteem in the first place.

At point a million you get a splash flavor, then while ya hit point 2 you start to get a yearning. with the aid of point 3, you're an entire-blown addict, and screaming in the direction of further and further tiers. while ya get suspended from point 7 and are available crashing all the way down to a million returned, you will do something for a restoration!

I get ur point. I guess ur right. American ppl can be a real embarrassment for other Americans who are exceptions..
Ive seen this funny joke "A person who speaks 3 languages- sophisticated, a person who speaks 2 languages- educated, a person who speaks one language- American!"
Some of my friends did their degrees in the US (includin A levels in high school) and they were shocked by the low level of education there. They often told me "hey! imagine in high school they do what we do in primary school" or they wud compare US colleges to European ones.

What intelligent Person would believe that Yahoo answers represents the cross section of America? At best a question may receive one hundred answers, extrapolating out from there it isn't even significant in terms of percentile for the purpose of a review of how intelligent the population is. You should reconsider Your position, in my opinion.
