it's by peter, bjorn and john, the title is the young folk. they just called it the whistle song because everyone would recognise the catchy whistle. it was about 17 or 16 in the hottest 100.

I agree with the third person, it's peter bjorn and john's young folks. your time is right and a lot of people reqested it on Super Request as "the whistling song"
