having it fitted, the effects after etc. I would be really greatfull for your answers. I was originally on the pill for contraception but fell pregnant on it. I now have a beautiful little girl but dont plan on having any more for a couple of years yet, and i am breast feeding so i think the coil is the better option.

Thankyou xxx

i had a coill fitted 6months agoa and it is the best thing i have tryed.
the procedure is fairly quick basically you lay like when having a smear and then the doctor will use a tool to open you like in a smear he will then insert the coil it is a little painfull but after having a baby its nothing it feels like sharp scratching.
my doctor shew me the coil b4 putting it in.
after it is done they ask u to lay there for a min then u can go. you will have some slight bleeding spotting for a couple of days and it feels a bit weird and uncomfatable for a few days but then it settles down and u feel nothing.
the coil has a small piece that hangs inside ur vagina a little bit lie thin fishing line buit is not very long and u can only feel it by inserting ur finger. my partner said that he can not feel it at all when we have sex which was my main worrie but he cant and when i have asked him he said he cant with his finger either but i guess thats because he dont know what hes looking for,
u should have to go for yearly checkups to make sure that it is ok. i also had to return after a few weeks to have it checked that it was in the right place but they do this by feeling your tummy so no internal. hope this helps.
my best advice is relax while they do it.
x

It isn't the most fun you can have with your clothes on, I have to say, but if you've given birth then having a coil fitted will be a walk in the park for you. It's worse having it out actually but you needn't think about that for 5 years.

I had very few after-effects....maybe a bit of spotting for a few days after, mild period-like pains and my first couple of periods after were a bit heavier than usual. But the advantages far outweighed these things. I hated taking the pill and had 2 accidents because of it. No such worries with a coil. And no unnatural chemicals wandering around your body. Good choice, friend.

hi - it quite is senseless mendacity to you; it feels a tad grotesque. It sounds like a severe era soreness. it quite is using the intrusion previous the cervix, which for specific isn't meant to be penetrated in this kind. The 'ouch' does no longer very final long, yet I strongly propose you to have somebody with you who can rigidity you domicile. I quite have had 2 coils equipped (at diverse circumstances, for sure) and on the 2d occasion, I known to pass into some kind of ask your self and very very nearly crashed my motorized motor vehicle. I had to renounce using, loaf around of the using rigidity's door and dry vomit for extremely a couple of minutes. No, this is nowhere close to to as undesirable as giving start up, no count if it does sense intrusive and it does sense like a severe era cramping kind of soreness. Take coronary heart from the reality that it lasts approximately 5 - 10 seconds (in all hazard much less), it quite is all. reliable fulfillment!

i am having second coil by now, i didn't feel anything when it was installed neither i felt any pain during periods. maybe first 2 periods can be heavier. i can't say anything bad about this way of contraception - no weight gain, no pain, no side effects. of course u should keep hygene immaculate, otherwise u will have all kinds of stuff down there - if u have coil u re prone to infections. so i wash morning and evening and each time after each intecourse. if i have 3 intecourses during one night i will wash myself after each. good luck

about this remark about removing coil - i didn't feel anything when it was removed either

the coil is best if you have completed your family and are in a stable relationship for the following reasons:
1. it can increase the risk of infection..so u if u have lots of sexual partners u will still need a condom
2.it can cause pelvic inflammatory disease
3. causes heavy periods, unless its the new merina coil
4. and sometimes sore during sex..partic positions where deep penetration takes place
5 after u get in in u will feel cramping..like period pains and spotting
