There used to be no blue background behind my pc icons, but now there is. Last time there were no backgrounds at all, so the wallpaper looks nice. How can I remove the blue background ? Please help. thank you.

goto control panel-system-advanced-performance settings-and then scroll down to "use drop shadows on icons"

Try the following:
- In the Display Properties select the appearance tab
- Select Windows XP style (re-select it if already selected)
- click apply

Also try to avoid using any .gif animated picture as a wallpaper

right click on the desktop
go to properties
then apearence tab
go to item drop down menu

see if you ca cange it from there or

use tweakXP software if you have XP .It is available on the net
