It's the fault of all these voters in the US who could not be bothered to vote for an alternative the last time. And it will be their fault again, I'm certain they are going to let the right do their thing, and moan about the loss of their freedom afterwards.

Not sure who the "BIRTISH" are exactly... but.. just consider how many tv evangelsits you have in US?... Consider how many Cults you have in US?... Look how you have for your President - a committed Christian !
As I understand your history, your ancestors are made up of EUROPEANS, Irish as well as BRITISH.. hmmmmm
You should bear in mind that children are using these forums to discover knowledge... USA WAS DISCOVERED by an Italian.. Chisptopher Columbus, when he found The New World.
Carver, John, c.1576–1621, first governor of Plymouth Colony. A wealthy London merchant, in 1609 he emigrated to Holland, where he soon joined the Pilgrims at Leiden. His excellent character and his fortune, of which he gave liberally to the congregation, served to make him a leader. Carver, the chief figure in arranging for the Pilgrim migration to America
Plymouth Colony, settlement made by the Pilgrims on the coast of Massachusetts in 1620.
So, TECHNICALLY, it's NOT the British's fault but the ENGLISH.
Britain comprises of Wales, Scotland, NORTHERN Ireland and England - all countries in thier own right, until the processes of devolution during the last 10 years whereby the Celtic Coutnries are rising up again and starting to take responsibility for thier own countries with thier own Assembly Parliaments.
So, PLEASE do not confuse the facts today. ENGLISH NOT British.

Those were the Quakers. Now we have the Evangelicals to deal with. Those mega-churches all their little side activities have to do with politics and how to get their ideas made law.I don't think you can blame the Brits for it. The US has been independent for over 200 years.

It's been over 200 years! And the fact that the country wasn't founded by religious nuts (a good deal of the founder fathers were, in fact, deists) kind of leads one to wonder why, after the British left, we were less religious than after they'd been gone awhile. Using your logic I could say they abandoned us too soon.

USA is anything but a religious country for god loving Christians. If you're a Christian, especially a Roman Catholic then you're dead. Anybody can take a smite at your faith and it's okay. On the other hand if you're an Muslim, Buddist, Confuctionist, Pagan, Hindi, Republican, capitalist, or even an outright aetheist then your freedom of religion is protected.
