I cannot name an honest politician. I disagree with you that all politicians are liars out to line thier own pockets. They are true to their parties policies, albeit, when it suits their requirements. It just so happens they get better than average pay, but by no means are they getting corporate pay packages. Indict the coporate directors, CEO's of multi-nationals. How can society justify the crazy figures private enterprise is giving the top dogs? Just one mulit-nationals CEO's wage could feed a developing country childrens for months. Vote for World peace...

I agree about Tony Benn. In the same vein you might also argue for Sir Edward Heath.

Margaret Thatcher was honest. We may not have liked all her policies, but she said what she was going to do and then did it. We elected her three times.

The problem we have currently is the sad role that an ill-educated media plays in politics. It is almost impossible to identify honest politicians because there is so much smoke and mirrors - not always politicians' fault - unless you count back-room spin-doctors as politicians.

Dr. Joe Swartz, (r) Michigan One term Representative, he was defeated by a far right preacher in one of the dirtiest campaigns that I have ever seen in the repuglican primaries in 06. Swartz took the high road. I surmised from this that repuglicans from this area didn't want a honest Representative. I am a democrat.

There isn't such a thing as an honest politician. So I can't name one. I agree with you.

Boris Johnson seems to be fairly honest. Too much of a buffoon to know how to lie.
