Don't worry my mum was 3 week over due with my brother and he was born a healthy 9lb 15oz. If you want to speed thing up get some Castrol (not sure of the spelling) oil and mix a few table spoons in milk and drink it down and it should help bring on labour. My cousin and sister did this and my sis went into labour the next morning and my cousin went into labour 5 hours after she took some. Good luck with the new baby

I had a curry did the castor oil thing (although I have had some tuts about that, so please ask midwife first) and then had sex and I went into labour a few hours later. My sis in laws midwife said raspberry tea was bad and can make ur labour worse or something. I heave heard evening primrose helps bring labout on but best discuss it with ur midwife.

42 weeks really is pushing the envelope here if your doctor or midwife has not yet discussed some sort of induction strategy with you, and I assume they haven't, and that why you're asking here.
Rather than relying on DIY induction if I were you I'd call my caregiver or clinic as soon as I could and ask what their plans for me are. I hope they are monitoring you closely at this time.
I know that there are natural birthing advocates around that will tell you to just let nature take it's course and generally I agree, but when pregnancies just go on and on and on for weeks after the confirmed due date you can open the door to a whole bunch of complications for mother and infant.

There isnt really anyway you can force yourself into labour but at my unit we would be giving you this advice:
Sexual intercorse (not too rigorous)
Short walks often
I have also known people be told to use primrose capsules and that has worked but consult your docter first
Also if possible a good bumpy ride in a car

Relax.
Take at least 30mg zinc a day for essential hormone production to trigger labour.
Have a warm bath with 10 drops clary sage oil. it is best to mix the clary sage oil in a little almond or olive oil first before adding to the bath (don;t add any other bubble baths etc)
You can also burn the clary sage in an oil burner but don;t overdo it too much or your labour will be too fast.
good luck

Are you sure of your dates. If you are surely your doctor and midwife should be making arrangements to start you off. I thought after two weeks over your due date its time for junior to arrive whether naturally or with a bit of help. He or she must be quite content where they are but cant stay there forever. Wish you all the best.

If you mean you are 42 weeks pregnant then you really should be seeing a doctor and getting induced straight away. It is not safe to carry the baby any longer as the placenta starts to degrade and your baby could die. You need to go straight to a hospital.

Ask your midwife to give you an internal examination. If she's sympathetic she'll help you out! I'm surprised they've let you go two weeks over, where I live it's a ten-day maximum. btw - the sex thing really does work!

If you are 2 weeks overdue i would have thought you would be getting induced by now ! In the UK (Scotland) they only let you go a week past your dates now ..
I suppose you could try sex , fresh pineapple , sit on the washing machine whilst its on spin lol ...
Good Luck x
