There is no more or less suffering in the world when Republicans rule than when Democrats rule. The only difference is that the media has a clear liberal slant. This shouldn't come as a surprise, since reporters make their careers on sensational stories. By definition, sensational stories pull on our emotions and get us to care. Generally, democractic reform is meant to appeal to emotional needs, while republican reform pulls at practical needs.
Quite honestly, both are necessary. If the world were run entirely upon Republican ideology, then we're all be stepping on those with debilitating diseases or handicaps and calling all of the poor lazy.
However, if the world were run entirely according to Democractic ideology, our national debt would spiral out of control because of a desire to fix every problem in the world immediately, countries that love peace would be too caring and compassionate to go to war, and our production capacity would taper off, leaving us without some of the goods that we desire so badly because of over-taxation and over-regulation.
Put simply, Republicans would cause suffering because of cold practicality. Democrats would cause suffering by stagnating growth and development, ultimately causing the collapse of our viability as a country.
Don't be so quick to judge one side or the other. Both make great sense, depending upon the situation. Throughout history, we've needed both.

Your question implies that either the US is responsible for or has the power to end much suffering and injustice around the world. I don't think either are true, but people argue whether we do more harm or good. The difference between Republicans and Democrats over time is small, but if you are generalizing on evidence since 9/11, I understand how you could come to your conclusion. There is nothing more dangerous than the powerful who perceives himself to be a victim

really are you nuts?
you have to be a wacko.... the US or the GOP doent hold the power to do that..
I would say you have the mental power of a 5 year old
in that you have no clue what you are saying or the mental power to think it out..
the DNC pushed suffering by taking money away from people,, and giving it to the " poor" or lazy in the US the GOP just says get off your but and work...
they are the same party you have to be stupid to think different..
I would also like to point out that people like you are the real problem in the world today... your one of the wackos everyone talks about

If you are referring to the Iraq war... You may want to consider the fact that the U.S. became involved in; WW1, WW2, Korean War, Vietnam War all under a Democrat Presidency. One can also argue that there is less suffering in Iraq now than under Sadam...
