Clamped fins, gasping, listlessness, poor swimming, and bad appetite are all good clues that something's wrong with your fish. Also look for discolorations, holes, or splits in the fins.
The best thing to do is to watch your water parameters; you should have 0 ammonia and 0 nitrites. Change 25% of the water once a week, making sure to dechlorinate the incoming water. And keep in mind the ten gallon rule: You need ten gallons of water per goldfish. If you don't have that, you are overstocked, and some of your fish need to go back to the fish store.

They can sit at bottom of the tank and some times lower they dorsal fin, kind of look depressed. They shouldnt be hitting into things as this indicates a health problem like flukes, parasites etc.. Also a stressed fish may hang at water surface gasping.
Check your paremeters for amonia, nitrite and nitrate. If you dont have a test kit you can take a sample of water to any pet store and they will do it for you. You can try adding some salt to your tank and maybe do a 30% water change 1st.

Some symptoms of stress & overcrowding are clamped dorsal(back) fin, frayed caudal(tail) fins, gasping at the water surface, & "flashing" or when they swim up to the top of the tank & "flash" their bellies in a jumping type motion.

they swim around really fast hitting the glass all the time and they stop eating
