Yes, Indian team is definately short of a genuine all rounder and this has been the main reason for it not being able to chase modest totals. This was evident in the World cup 1999 Match versus Zimbabwe, to whom India lost by 3 runs and recently in the Rajkot One-dayer v/s Sri-Lanka, which India lost by 5 Runs.

Yes. India defenitely lack the services of a good allrounder. That is the reason why they are frantically trying to improve the performance of Irfan Pathan.

Oh yes, there is not a single genuine All-rounder.

An all-rounder should be consistently able to change the course of a match by dint of his Batting OR Bowling OR Fielding. And he should be able to get selected in the team by virtue of his capability in any single area

Kapil Dev was the last genuine all-rounder. Manoj Prabhakar was also a great talent. But since then there has been NOTHING.

Now we are passing off Sachin, Irfan, Dhoni and even Sehwag as all-rounders !! (Jayasuriya is a better all-rounder than these people !)

yes, we need a fast bowler like Bret Lee and efficient batsmen like Mike Hussey and marvellous feilding reflexes like Jonty Rhodes ,all of the above qualities combined in a single player can really fill the shortage of one good allrounder in our team.
