Overall, ovulation is more closely linked with the period that comes AFTER it, so ovulation almost always occurs 14 days before you expect your period.

This means if you have 31 day cycles, for example, you will ovulate 17 days after the start of your period, and 14 days before you expect the next one. Roughly.

But in women who have very irregular cycles it is very difficult to predict when they will ovulate. For these women, predictor kits are helpful.

As for eating fruit - yes, by all means do. Just ensure it is thoroughly washed and/or peeled.

You will have an LH surge around the 14th day after your first day of bleeding, 24 - 48 after this ovulation occurs.
