Thanks to everyone who has answered so far. There have been a few interesting responses. For anyone else wishing to take a shot, I'm sort of looking for something deeper. Not rules of our social constructs, they're just made up. I'm talking about the REAL game of life, the one that doesn't end at death. And if you don't believe in it, maybe you should skip this question.

I probably should've been more specific in the question, but sometimes you just can't find the words, eh? The answers here aren't exactly along the same lines of what I had in mind but that's my own fault. I'll be fair in choosing the best answer.

I found one rule the other day: "Nothing is fixed". It was in Bruce Lee's Striking Thoughts book, I think.

The first and foremost rule is that you can never assume that the game will ever end, even as you know every game must have an end.

Thanks for a Star question!!

Judge not, turn the other cheek, love your neighbor. For a quite a while I didn't understand the love your neighbor part.

A long time ago I thought that love was something that you reserved for some special set of people that you had judged worthy of it.

After a while I got to thinking about what Jesus had said about turning the other cheek and loving our neighbor I put the two together and realized that he had made no exceptions in these statements. It became obvious to me that he intended that we exclude no one from the love that we are supposed to be giving. I started thinking about my idea of love and suddenly realized that I had not been loving anyone at all. I had simply been judging everyone and every thing.

Judging someone worthy of love is not love, it is only judgment. I actually started to cry when I realized this. I saw just how much of my life I had wasted being judgmental, thinking of myself as a Christian, when I was actually doing just the opposite of what Jesus had asked us to do.

I thought about the verse judge not lest ye be judged, and I understood it for the first time.

I realized that I have a lot of catching up to do. So many opportunities were wasted. I now try to apply the love that I have for the world in a universal way like Jesus asks us to do.

If I start to feel afraid and think that I see someone that I should not love because of something I have thought or heard I try to catch my mistake as soon as possible. I tell myself that I have forgot the truth and have fallen for the same old trick that had cost me so many opportunities to be loving in the past. The horror of this realization is often all that is necessary to bring me back to my senses and make me drop the judgmental nonsense I was thinking.

I still have a lot to learn about love, but at least I’m making progress.

Love and blessings

Every Game has a target to be won… If Life is a game then the rules are as follows
* Play it like "Love or War" in either case everything becomes fair
* Play it with your own Rules till you stop believing in those Rules
* Play to change yourself and not the world around you because that is the "KEY" to escape
* Bonus Points: Do good, Be Good, Think Good
* Avoid: Anything in this Life Game you like and you don know why you like it so much... AVOID
* Biggest Rule: Identify your enemy in Life.... ie Learn from your mistakes.

The only unbreakable rules in the game of life are the laws of physics.

Then there's the legal rules, which are different wherever you are. Be glad you don't live in Afghanistan, where some of the rules of the new government include punishment by stoning for certain forms of blasphemy. (at least I assume you don't.)

Then there's moral rules, which aren't perfectly defined and which people sometimes like to argue about. Basically, do your best with these, but the simplest one is the best:

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Not many people seriously argue against the gist of this one.

The only rule I know of, that seems true,is that the rules keep changing! Every time I thought I had them figured out, I was wrong. My best advise if you get up in the morning, and your not ashamed of what you see in the mirror, your probably going by the rules. Good luck, and help someone have a happy day ! The Universe will bless you !

The Ultimate Laws of the Universe are the Laws of Thermodynamics. The Laws of Thermodynamics are the supreme rulers of the universe. To put them in very simple statements, they are;

Law 0 - Everything is a game.
Law 1 - You cannot win at this game.
Law 2 - You cannot break even in this game.
Law 3 - You cannot quit this game.

You might want to google the Laws of Thermodynamics to get a more concise definition.

there are no rules in life except when dealing with the law as long you have respect its a fair game.life itself is unfair sometimes and life can be cruel as long as you will accept it that the better you play the game.the better the outcome and better for you.Life is a continuous battle
so go out there and face the world and do the best you can.and challenge whatever comes your way and be cool to understand what you have to learn to get a better life and better future good luck

There are no rules, because if there were any, people would say that 'rules are MEANT to be broken' (which is nonsense, in my opinion) and break them anyway, so why bother making up rules?

And if people made up their own rules, they would break them themselves! lol...

So I prefer to think that life is a game in which everyone gets a fair deal and everyone has fun and everyone has difficulties, and everyone loses and everyone wins.

I can lend you my rule book until you find yours. Wait a minute didn't anyone tell you? We make our own rules. So my rule book will not be of any use to you. Anyway I live by way too little rules !

Sometimes you make them up as you go along. Only you know and understand fully what they are. God will play games with you if you ask him to.
