Is their discrimination in Phillipines?

The truth is, Filipinos are mostly dark themsekves and use a lot of skin whiteners because they really prefer a fairer complexion. So they never crave for black folks. However, discrimination is the last thing you will ever encounter in our country, people here are always excited to see visitors and we are just born curious about other kinds of people, even aliens if given the chance :p We are the most hospitable country in Asia and I don't know why we are that way but we LIKE having visitors even among ourselves. I just hope those "other people" will reciprocate our kindness as a host when it's our turn to visit them because I hear a lot of horrifying stories about racial discrimination from those who have been abroad, so sad.

Hey what up cuz? I won't say that they crave black men but don't go there acting like you all that and disrespecting folks. (I only say that because I don't know you.)
I am a black man and I go there frequently. Back in the day when I was in the Navy, (1988-1991) my spot was Olongapo City.
Basically, if the people can feel that you are good people, then the women want to feel you out also.
Just use your street smarts and be cool and you should be alright.
I don't know what part of the Philippines that you are going to but the Philippines is not the same as it were when the Military bases were here with the exception of Angeles City.
Still, watch out for yourself cuz.

Dude, if you would have used the word "accept" instead of "crave" i would think that you would have no problem. Since you used the word "crave," you will most likely not find a descent girl here. Very sad.
Actually, most girls parent's wouldn't necessarily be proud if they had a black son in law. Its that simple, Rodriguez is better than Oyewole. Because of the "crave" thang ...

Sometimes. But if you're respectful of the culture and learn a few phrases (and show the dough), then it'll be cool.
Interesting Historical fact: After the Civil War, America sent black troops to fight in the American-Philippine war. Some of the black troops went AWOL because their commanders were telling them to "kill those n*****s" and they didn't appreciate that. They fought alongside the Filipinos and were accepted.

Oh please God do not send this jerk to the Philippines. We do not need another U.S. Serviceman to rape someone in the Philippines. Your Marine buddy caused enough problems for us Americans living and working in the Philippines we do not need anymore. I have never witnessed discrimination in the Philippines of any kind, but I have never known any woman in the Philippines craving a Black man either. Are you under the impression the women in the Philippines believe the myth all Black men are well endowed. I think they know better.

Seriously, I have a suggestion for you. . .Go to Angeles City where the old Clark Air Force base used to be. There you will find many half black half Pinay girls, the result of US black servicemen who got Philippino girls pregnant and never to return. GOD HOW TRAGIC. Please do not do that to the people I love.

you'll get stares from people, but that's out of curiosity and discrimination exists everywhere even in the US right? but we're a good race, we know how to treat people well and give them due respect. unlike the americans or other nationalities.

Filipino's are okay with like black men. Since you're from the U.S Navy, they will surely treat you with benevolence and hospitality. No worries.

As long as you're nice,polite & you know how to respect people then there's no discrimination. Filipinos are hospitable & friendly. Just keep your feet on the ground man & everything will be alright for you back there. (- -,)
