It does record, but without the sound playing. There must be a way to get the sound playback at the sime time as recording otherwise it takes an age to complete the recording of an LP. PLEASE don't suggest that I don't bother and use bit torrent - they don't have all of the music that I have on LP...

Try the full recording first, then try playing.

If you have sound while recording it might actually affect the quality.

If it's taking a long time, make sure you're using a usb 2 port for higher speed.

And, what if the turntable is just bad? Does happen. Try on another pc to test.
Good luck. I plan to do the same thing!

I did this using nero sound trax and was able to listen at the time of recording and I was only to record at the speed of the disc on the turn-table playing. It takes a long time and had to do it all twice as I got my settings wrong so get it right before you waste a lot of time. Depending on your software you should be able to listen as you record, could be a box needs ticked or a drop down menu checked and also make sure you have nothing plugged into you headphone out put. It Will take a lot of time more than you think.

Don't know about the software you're using, but the software I use to capture live audio requires that I set it up to "Play Thru" in preferences.
