My wife is divorcing me. So far everything has been agreed upon as far as splitting our assets and our bills and also custody and child support payments for our children. I don't have any reason to believe she would screw me over, but divorce can get nasty. I hadn't planned on getting an attorney because I believe what she is telling me her lawyer is saying. If you sign a separation agreement, can that be changed before the divorce is finalized.

can you read? just read the divorce papers and then see if you can live with this agreement. I have been through this twice and i divorced two women and yes I got the lawyer and they did not as I was more then fair with both settlements.
Spend the money if you must. But if you can read and get another person who you trust to read the agreement it pretty much cut and dried.

I'd get a lawyer, I didn't, my ex-husband had the lawyer, we too agreed on everything, assets, bills, custody, child support...........I didn't have any reason to believe he would screw me over, but divorce can get nasty.......and sometimes it really does.

depending on what state you are in i would check the laws. i didnt get one when i got divorced in tx and everything came out ok but support payment laws are different from state to state so id make sure before it was finalized.

I'm not really sure if it can be changed but, I think it can. If she has an attorney, you need to get one too but make sure it's one who is willing to work with you and not go for her jugular.
