Couple of months ago I got me a Sun Alarm SA2002. I think this is the best alarm I ever had in my life.
Most of the alarm clocks are very disturbing.
The rude awakenings in modern life certainly contribute to the daily stress we face. More importantly, this type of awakening may fail to support our delicate and complex body systems. Our inability to awaken in today's darkened bedroom created the need for an alarm clock, ergo: the blaring, buzzing, dreaded alarm clock.
Perhaps the worst side effect of an alarm clock is that in some people it can stimulate the fight-or-flight human defense mechanism. Since human beings are biologically programmed to wake up to sunlight, audio awakening devices seem diametrically opposed to our biological needs.
Audio devices of any kind trigger a response of sudden wakefulness causing a quick and disturbing rush of adrenalin. Our body naturally reacts by sending the appropriate fight-or-flight chemicals into our bloodstreams, preparing our body mechanisms to fight or run away.
Since there is nothing to fight and run from when we waken each morning, there is no need for such chemicals to be surging in our bloodstream at this time of day. Nevertheless, most of us still awaken each morning physically and emotionally armed for battle.
The audio-awakening stimulus has no biological or chemical capacity for such programming, so it must be repeated morning after morning. Some people get into a simple habit of awakening at a certain time of day, but most don't. For those who don't -- audio stimulation must be repeated every morning.
A very important difference between audio awakening and retinal-visual awakening is that the latter actually "sets" our biological clock for awakening. The time you wake up today, by light, is the time your brain and body are now programmed to awaken tomorrow. Once a pattern is established with light-stimulated waking, you'll be more able to wake up at a regular time that has been set by retina-triggered serotonin, regardless of whether you use the Sun Alarm every morning.
Well, the only one problem might be faced is if you sleep in bed with someone else and both of you have different awakening time. Like I get up at 4am for work and my boyfriend at 7 am, so my alarm wake him up as well... lol but we have breakfast together and he works on his school project before work. So I guess it worked out for both of us. : )
And remember that average human needs 7-8 hours of solid sleep. Chronic sleep deprivation can raise cortisol levels. Cortisol, a hormone that encourages the storage of fat in the abdomen. It can also drive down levels of the appetite-control hormone leptin, making you feel hungry.
I hope this will help. Take care

well definately get to bed earlier..relax. no distractions before bed like tv, computers and food! have an alarm clock ready, maybe have someone call u to make sure u are awake. and if getting fully awake in the morning is hard, maybe do a few jumping jacks..orange scents in the shower does energizes too. good but not a big breakfast to help start the day :o)

Move your alarm clock from right next to your bed, to across the room. When you set it, and it goes off, you have to get up to turn it off. You are already up, so you are not tempted to press snooze and go back to sleep.

Set several alarms to go off about 1 minute apart. Put them around your room so you keep having to get up. It's annoying but it hasn't failed me yet.
