In a word, surprising. Most are saying that Michigan will go 6-6. I don't see this happening. Not with our schedule. Now, I know that NO GAME is an automatic win (see app st.) but, one can pretty much assume a win or a loss. I see Michigan going 10-2. With losses at the hands of Wisconsin and Ohio State (as I puke in my mouth). Either way, this season will pave the path for next season, where I expect to see Michigan make a huge statement not only in the B10 but on the national stage as well.

OK.........First of all Michigan has actually done a very poor job of recruiting the past few years. Look at this year's recruit class. Of the top 10 recruits from Michigan high schools UofM could only manage to snag one of them. If you can’t even get the kids that are playing in your own backyard there is something wrong. If you look at the rosters for Ohio St. or Texas you will see that 75 percent are players from that state. Michigan is the opposite with 75 percent from other states. It’s like they need to quick pick up the best of the leftovers.

Michigan does have a “fair” share that makes it to the NFL. The most notable is Tom Brady but even he was a 6th round pick. NFL teams are looking for players that can come out of college and IMMEDIATELY contribute so they look to the schools that run NFL style offenses and defensive schemes and coaches with NFL history. Lloyd’s teams are still too old school and just plain basic. Therefore you see a lot of UofM role position players survive the NFL but rarely any skill positions like QB or RB. Even Brady had to spend time behind Bledsoe to get acclimated to the NFL. You will never see a Vince Young or Matt Leinert come out of a Lloyd Carr system.

Im not a michigan fan, but i am a big ten fan, I would have to say that michigan gets some of the best players, because of its rich tradition and that the school is a powerhouse. You know that if you go and play for the wolverines you are playing with a rich history behind you, and if you start and are half way decent your chances of going to the nfl are very high. They also have good recruiters( not that it would be hard to recruit, when you can mention the tradtion and exposure you will receive when you attend their university)

What are you talking about? Cata June, Marlin Jackson, Tom Brady, Braylon Edwards, Charles Woodson, Amani Toomer, Ian Gold, Steve Hutchinson, James Halls, Ty Law, Jon Jansen, Jon Runyan, and Victor Hobson are very good pro players.

There were 41 Michigan players on NFL rosters this year with other notable young stars like Chris Perry, Gabe Watson, and Dhani Jones.

Can't forget Anthony Thomas who did good in McGahee's absent and Brian Griese who might possibly have helped the Bears won the superbowl if they started him like they should.

And someone else already mentioned that we have about 5 good players coming out this years draft. Branch and Hall are sure first rounders with Harris, Woodley, and Burgess finding themselves in round 2-4. Don't forget about Breaston who could do what Desmond Howard did.

I want whatever you are smoking because I think that MIchigan is well represented in the NFL.

It's easy to recruit well when your just north of one of the best states for high school football, not to mention PA is a hop, skip, and jump as well. Couple that with Michigan's tradition and being the lower half of the greatest rivalry in college sports and its easy to see why the are able to pull in high quality athletes. Unfortunately, when Lloyd Carr is your head coach, when you lose to the greatest football team in the country year in and year out, and you get smoked in bowl game after game, it wears thin on your players, and ultimately, the people who choose them in April. They're are always a few exceptions to every rule, of course. But in the end, the real answer is because they chose to go to Michigan, they chose to wear the dismal colors of maize and puke, and they chose to be affiliated with the worst state in the union... In other words, Go Bucks!
