It depends, what number of songs do you want? Do you want a 2GB? a 4GB 40GB?How much money are you willing to spend? Do you want videos on your Ipod? I have to say, don't get the shuffle. When you have a list of songs, it mixes them up and you don't get your songs playing in the order you want them. I have the Nano, and it's awesome.

It really depends on what you plan to use it for. The Shuffle is definitely the best option for jogging or any other form of rough excercise. It's lighter than any of the other models, has no internal moving parts, and can be clipped anywhere that's convenient. However, it won't do photos, videos, or playlists. It's only slightly more expensive per GB than the silver Nano. One odd drawback is that it's the only model available right now that doesn't use a dock connector. Instead, the headphone jack doubles as the charge/sync port, which means that any power solution accessories you buy will need to be specific to the Shuffle.

The Nano is a nice convenient pocketable size that'll be safe for jogging if you want to carry a few more songs at the same time. It'll show photos, but not videos, and it can handle multiple playlists. The 2G Nano, like the 2G Shuffle, is also encased in anodized aluminum, which isn't nearly as scratch-prone as the clear acrylic face on the Video and the 1G Nano. Each tier will also double the amount of capacity for a fairly modest increase in price (the black one gets you 8x the Shuffle's capacity for only 3x the price).

The Video is the workhorse of the bunch. It doesn't look as sleek, and it's the only current model that still uses an acrylic face (if you get one, have a screen guard ready to apply when you open the box). By capacity, the 80GB model is the most cost efficient player on the market (competitors will sell a player with 25% less capacity for the same price), but it's also fairly bulky. This is the one you want to go for if you have a massive music collection, like well over 500 CDs. The 30GB model should have no problem holding anything up to about 650-700 CDs, though, and it costs the same as the 8GB Nano for over 4x the capacity. Both sizes will do videos (there are even cables that will allow you to display videos on a standard TV), photos, and playlists, plus they have a significantly larger screen than the Nano. They aren't as easy to tuck into a pocket unless you either carry them without a case (not advisable, since a case will help protect the hard-drive from being damaged if you drop it) or you go with a leather case. You'll want to avoid any form of jarring excercise with this model (I'd say that biking and stationary excercise machines are about the only compatible forms), as hard-drives have moving parts that don't get along with sharp impact, and no case is going to adequately protect them from repeated bouncing like they'll get from jogging.

easily no longer shuffle. valuable its the main inexpensive, notwithstanding it would not have a demonstrate, so which you won't be in a position to p.c. a undeniable music you opt to hearken to, and which would be rather complicated. in case you have an excellent sort of songs, don't get this one. The Nano is small and handy. observing the iPod you may upward thrust as much as 4 GB. The demonstrate is small yet in coloration. this is all around tremendously valuable. It gets fingerprints on it very, very, comfortably, however. The video is notwithstanding, basically 50 funds greater effective than the 4 GB Nano, with 30 GB. So, 50 funds for 26 greater GB. in case you have an excellent sort of songs, and GB is significant, this is tremendously nicely worth it. this is in coloration, and the demonstrate is relatively vivid. in case you care concerning to the movies, its additionally a plus, and you will positioned your photographs on there in its very own section, particularly of being linked to a music. The demonstrate is extensive and intensely valuable. My buddy has one, and says it scratches up tremendously easily, notwithstanding it comes with a sock like pocket element to place it in. that's recommended to purchase a greater valuable case for it however. wish that facilitates, and have a lot of exciting on your trip! stay secure, too.

The larger sized iPod with video can also fit a lot more songs on - I bought an 80Gb a couple of months ago and it's fantastic - storage space for about 20000 songs

I have an IPOD Video and I wouldn't swap it for anything. I guess it depends on what you want to use it for though.

All IPODS are great you just have to decide which one best suits your needs.
