the water test at the shop said everything was ok for a tropical tank that includes ammonia and nitrates, nitrites. it all started after buying some fish from petsmart they have nearly all died plus ones that i had before the new ones were added are starting to die. I have started to do a 10% water change everyother day just incase of ammonia build up.

could it be the shrimpkilling the fish while they sleep.

Just noticed one two minows have lost there soft lips and now just have an open mouth

Define normal range. Ammonia and nitrites should be at zero. What about ph? Any swings in ph? Honestly, you should buy yourself a test kit and test every few days. It doesn't matter what the store tested a week ago if the fish are dying today.

I agree. Buy your own test kit, shops arent reliable with there results. Your amonia and nitrite should be 0ppm and nitrate 0ppm-0.25ppm PH can fluctuate aswell like above person has said.

Also goldfish can be nippers and if the goldfish is slightly bigger could be the coulpret. Could you try moving the goldfish into another tank for a few days to see if it makes any difference.

Other than that I would buy your fish from else where. I bought a group of Guppies the other day and they were fit and healthy, then they keeled over and died. I phoned the store back and she said bring them back monday morning as I tested my water and all was ok. It turned out there was a problem with that supply of guppies. I chose some panda corys instead and gfot some free stuff.

A "Nemo fish" is a saltwater fish, they gained't stay long in any respect in a a million.5g freshwater mermaid tank, they choose a minimum of a 20g with the entire smack. Angelfish get 10" severe, they choose a cycled and time-honored eniviroment and a healthful nutrition recurring, they could desire to no longer be saved in something below a 10g, yet a 10g remains too small, a 20g+ would be mandatory interior the destiny. Cycle the tank, you will could tell your daughter what befell and attempt to make her experience greater valuable, say you will get a clean one quickly. Bettas do in comparison to filters and that i'm tremendously valuable they do in comparison to Mermaid ( LOL ). To cycle the tank upload 2 pinchs of nutrition 2 circumstances an afternoon, examine the ammonia ranges on a regular basis, It takes a very long term to describe and that i've got already defined it to love 12 people interior the final 24 hrs. basically seek, a thank you to fish-much less cycle an aquarium. you choose a greater tank besides, a a million.5g is lots too small even for a Betta, a Betta could have a minimum of a 3g tank, what you notice on the keep ( 20 oscars in a 10g, 2 hundred guppies in a 10g etc ) should not be mimicked, each inch of fish could have 1g of water to itself, so a Betta could have a minimum of a 3g. Is the tank heated? Bettas choose a heated enviroment, the temperature could be saved at seventy 8-81F good success!

Where do you get them? All the ones I get from walmart die with in 3 days. Maybe its the strees they get when you put them in the new tank.
