Is this not strange. I thought Jesus said that he was the son of God?
Well, if Muslims think that Jesus was a great phrophet, do they think he was a liar as well?

or do they just think that the Gospels are false and that Jesus never said he was son of God?

We beleive in Allah. Allah is the Arabic word for GOD!
You know how christans say that there is only 1 god?
Then they say Jesus is god's son.
So they are basicly disproving their own beleif.
They are saying there are 2 Gods.
Muslims are sticking to the fact that there are 1 god.

Jesus DID say he was the Son of God, becuase He IS the Son of God. The muslims; like the Jews don't believe that Jesus is the messiah though. They think, as you say, that he is a great profit; the same as Muhomad.
Also, you have to know that the Muslims god isn't the same as the christians God. So that is one of the reasons why they believe he is a great profit as muhomad and not the Son of God.
To say that they think that the gospels are false isn't totally correct either, but they don't read the gospels the same as the Christians do. We have totally different "bibles" (for lack of a different term.)
We (Christians) have the Bible and the Muslims have the Koran.

Christians and Muslims DO NOT believe in the same God! If it was, there won't be a lot of fighting, will it?

- Jesus IS the son of God. He did really said it, but maybe in another way.
- YES, Muslims do believe that Jesus is a prophet.
- NO, Jesus or the Bible do not lie! You may offend people (like me), questioning things like this.

I would say the second paragraph applies. We believe that Jesus was a prophet and we even believe that he was taken by God and cared for by God. We do not beleive that he was killed at the stake. Muslims see God as the ultimate being with no beginning and no end, no mother and no father, as the infinite "one" force that drives everything in this existence. How can God have a son? He does have his creations but not have a son in its literal meaning.

Even from a non religious point of view? How can a being so powerful and inifinite, be related to an earthly and human son? Where lies the logic of this connection. Where lies the fairness to other human beings as we too are miracles of creation, do we deserve to be called sons and daughters of God? We humans are bound by laws of nature as set by God, and yes, Jesus was a miracle, but still needed the womb of a women to develop. Which means, he too was bound in part, of having to go through the natural process. Jesus was not a son in a literal sense.

I'm not exactly well knowledged with the bible or the quran - having never read either, but i would say that they think he is a prophet because he taught great things, spreading love peace blah, blah.

Not a son of God per-say, because doesn't the bible say that we are all God's children??? So Jesus wouldn't be lieing so to speak, because he was, just like the rest of us.

I'd probably need to know a few more details because i'm not sure what the difference is between God and Allah - but i'm sure that through thousands of years of fighting between Christians and Muslims in the East about 'Our God is better than your God' - i'm sure that they just flat out refuse to accept it, despite agreeing with some of the things he has to say.

Yes, some changes had been made, Muslims believe that Jesus was Prophet of God. He was blessed with so many powers of God. He was not a liar, even Prophets cannot tell lie.

Actually, how many Jews think Jesus was the son of God?
Are the Jews not STILL waiting for the messiah?

But didn't Muhammad himself visit the grave of the Virgin Mary?
I think it was on the way to Jerusalem after leaving Mecca.
And did he not claim to see a glow above her grave at night?

It's funny to me,
How both groups say they worship the same god... but fight.
And Christians tell both groups that if they don't claim that
Jesus truly is the son of god, they are doomed to hell.
And yet both groups tend to get along with Christians better than
they do with each other.

Also, being raised Christian, I find it odd that most of the pagans
that I know, tend to follow more of the ten commandments, and
act like better Christians than a lot of the Christians I know.
-
Actually Kyanadri82, I want to call you on that.....
The people of the time of Muhammad worshiped MANY
gods, the god of air, of the sun, of the waters, of the sand,
and just about everything else.
Muhammad told the people that there was only ONE god.
And it was the god of Abraham Isaac and Jacob.
Just because they call him Allah instead of "God" does not matter
Even the Jews called him by several names including:
Jehovah and Elohim .
Even more refused to call him any name at all.
The Romans often made fun of the Jews and their "God who
hath no name"

Also.... you said we have different bibles... duhhhh
And Christians have two of them.
Jews use the Torah, and Christians call it the "OLD" testament.
But Jews don't use the new testament very often, do they?
Christians use the "NEW" testament but most of the old they
still ignore the other one.
(Anyone ever have pork-chops at the church picnic?)
The Muslims also don't eat pork.... BECAUSE GOD SAID SO.
Yup... the exact same god the Jews worship.... imagine that.
So yeah.... being as Jesus was the reason for a whole new
book being printed... mainly because it was a whole different
time period....
Then 400 years later.....Muhammad came along....
You cant add a new chapter to an old book.... you got to
make a new one.

Also... the "Dead Sea Scrolls" written by the Jews... did not
mention Jesus a single time.
-
Sorry YoYo... gotta call on you too...
They fight because thats what humans do.....
Saying Jews and Christians and Muslims cant fight is like saying:
"No one ever got shot in Ireland."
Catholics and Protestants kill each other all the time.
So are you saying that BECAUSE THEY FIGHT, that
Christians and Christians don't worship the same god?

Nazis claimed and even modern Neo-Nazis Claim that
they are "doing the work of god"
and then try to kill off "God's chosen people"??
so Christians and Jews have a different god now?

And the KKK, who are very religious in their speakings.
Have supposedly burned down black churches in the USA.
so... because they fight.... does that mean there is a White
Christian God... and a Black Christian God???????

If a man beats his wife.... and they both go to the same church.
Does that mean that they still worship different gods?

The best thing you can do is enter the word " Jesus" in websites that give you the verses and meanings of the Holy Quran ( The Holy book for Muslims) and you will find that the prophet Jesus and his mother Mary mentioned many times. He is one of the greatest and one of the most honored prophets in Islam. And if you read carefully, you will find that Allah clearly states that Jesus was not his son. Please see below a couple of good search sites. God Bless.

To suggest that God is to have an offspring, that would imply that God is mortal (only things that can die ever needs to have offspring to ensure the survival of their species - if something is immortal, then why breed?). Birth is a part of the process of life, wherein there is also death. If birth is to happen, the death is to follow at the end of that process. If God is to have a son born unto Him, then that suggests that God was also born and will also die.

It also suggests that if God can breed it's own, then there is a child God that will grow up to be another full grown God, equal or greater than the current God.

Muslims reject this as to them God is immortal, not subject to mortal needs to breed and hence does not have a son. They believe that there is no other beings that can be or will ever be equal to God.
