Should Islamic countries allow gay marriage?

at the moment most islamic countries punish gays with death or long prison sentences just for being themselves...shouldn't muslim countries show how tolerant and peaceful islam is and give full human rights to muslim homosexuals? what do you think? any thoughts?

The person above asks which Muslim countries execute homosexuals. They include Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Iran, Mauritania, Sudan, Somalia, Yemen and Iraq.
In Palestine, gays have been killed by police and mobs and, when arrested for their "crime" have been imprisoned, beaten, and made to stick their heads in buckets of excrement.
Despite legal safeguards, gays in Egypt also face persecution, and under the taliban Afghanistan was also a gay=death society. Like Iraq, its current laws are unclear.

The only reasonable answer to the question is surely "yes."

all countries should allow gay marriage or at least a form of legal partnership that recognises gay couples as a legit couple with the legal rights as a married couple. I think it's a far cry to say that Islamic countries will accept homosexuality for their muslim citizens in the near future. Just look at more 'developed' countries and you'll see that they don't even treat homosexuals with much respect (ie. America, Australia) when it comes to legalising gay marriage.

Homosexuality is explicitly condemned in the Qu'ran, and is widely accepted as attracting the same punishment under Shariah as fornication (assuming neither party is married), which is 100 lashes. The burden of proof is very high however (four witnesses to the act or a confession repeated four times) so miscarriage of justice is almost impossible. This is a severe punishment, but one of the key teachings of Islam is that unregulated sex threatens the social order, and leads to anarchy and chaos, and therefore has to be restricted to marriage. So no, I believe that flogging is a fair and just punishment for one of the greatest of sins of Islam. It has proved to be an effective deterrent in Islamic societies.

i dont think they would allow gay marriage because they live under islamic law, thats not to say that i dont think there are any gay musllims out there i think there are sooo many that live in the closet, i say the best thing to do is to become suicide bombers that way when they go to paradise Allah might reward then with some same sex virgins :0

Well.. I think there are much more important reforms than acceptance of gay marriages needed in islam.. I think women's rights for example is much more important than gay marriage..

In any case.. stop dreaming because it's NEVER likely to happen since muslims DETEST homosexuality.. and frankly.. so do I..

I am not gay .but if gay people choose to live together as
a couple .who cares ..allowing them to sign a marriage
certificate a piece of paper would not make any difference
to any one ,,
However there should be laws to limit child adoption ,,
not saying never allow ..but should be considered carefully

But of course in realty we are dealing with a religion so there is not much chance of that happening.

People should be able to f**k and marry who they please within the species.
